About Michael
Michael Wesson, Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner(CM) since 2005, is passionate about education. Michael was a computer programmer for 15 years before becoming a Feldenkrais Practitioner, during which time he suffered from debilitating chronic pain. He knows exactly what it is to live in the competitive corporate world where personal comfort and self-care are minimized by deadlines and goals. After years of repetitive computer use, Michael’s injuries were so severe he had to leave the tech field completely. He tried a multitude of treatment options before he found the Feldenkrais Method.
Feldenkrais first got Michael's attention because it was gentle enough that he could do a one hour lesson without causing pain. He kept with the Feldenkrais Method because it gave him confidence to move and do things without fear. Michael is now dedicated to helping others learn how to use themselves effectively and comfortably to prevent or recover from the pain that comes with poor posture and overuse.
Before moving to Portland, Michael taught classes in Awareness Through Movement and gave private lessons in Oakland, Berkeley, and Fresno, CA. There he worked with the general public, disabled adults, and the working injured. Michael now lives in Portland, Oregon.
