Transitions: Getting Down & Up from the Floor February 12 - March 14 Studies show that getting up and down from the floor easily is the single most important predictor of life long independence and well-being. Retain your agility, live independently, and take part in your life. Whether it’s getting on the floor with grandchildren, attending exercise class, or lying down to rest an aching back, there are many good reasons to be able to get on and off the floor. Get up and down with ease and do what you want to do!
Boosting Your Back Comfort March 19 - April 18 Back pain is the 2nd most common reason for a visit to the doctor, outnumbered only by upper respiratory infections. Eighty percent of adults will experience back pain and spend 50 billion each year (Journal of American Medical Association, 2013). You can reduce and prevent many kinds of back discomfort. This series is comprised of soothing lessons to calm and restore healthy back function and prevent future problems. Teach yourself to take care of your own back.
The above will be co-taught with Kim Cottrell, my Feldenkrais Practitioner colleague from the Vital Human Feldenkrais Clinic. There will be no breaks in this Wed & Fri schedule other than major holidays. You have a choice of Wed or Friday, no matter which day/location you sign up for.
